This job requires the post holder to assess the threat and risk across the key business areas of Firearms, Public Order, CED, CBRN, Roads Policing, Dogs, ANPR and Search. Taking into account available intelligence, organisational demand, and national and regional horizon scanning and learning. Then to assess and determine recommendations to ensure it the force has appropriate capability and capacity to mitigate those threats. This will be recorded and written into a strategic threat risk assessment (STRAs) and recorded in risk registers.
The post holder will prepare and submit national analytical data returns in the above key areas of business, ensure SOPs are reviewed and compliance checked and record and provide evidence of compliance.
The post holder is responsible for the protecting force operational and reputational resilience across high-risk portfolios areas through the design, maintenance and development of all policies and procedures in anticipation and response to organisational and business needs, including risk. This is to ensure college of policing (Firearms) licence compliance but also to ensure similar compliance in nationally required licence and accreditation in specialist areas of Dogs, Roads Policing, CED, CBRN, Public Order, ANPR and Search.
